Biography

Giulia D’Agostino is a PhD candidate in Communication Sciences at Università della Svizzera Italiana. She applies qualitative and quantitative methods for large-scale inquiry of linguistic and argumentative strategies in financial communication. Her research is focused on the identification, analysis, and retrieval (argument mining) of argumentative patterns in dialogical exchanges in the financial domain.

She is currently employed in the SNSF project titled: "Mining argumentative patterns in context. A large scale corpus study of Earnings Conference Calls of listed companies" under the supervision of prof. Andrea Rocci.

From March 2024 she is Associate Member of the Centre for Argument Technology (ARG-tech) at the University of Dundee, Scotland.
