Christian Sumi

Graduated from the Zurich Polytechnic, where he worked for the Institute of History and Theory of Architecture. He has taught at Harvard University, the Lausanne Polytechnic and the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. He runs an architectural practice in Zurich with Marianne Burkhalter. The firm acquired an international reputation by, among other things, its innovative wooden buildings and distinctive use of polychrome colours. Currently it is engaged in restructuring industrial buildings and the urbanization of Alpine space, as well as designing exhibition installations: Gottfried Semper, Zurich 2004; Robots , Zurich 2009.
