Biography

Manuel Baeriswyl is a Ph.D. student of the Institute of Marketing and Communication Management (IMCA) at the Faculty of Communication, Culture, and Society. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Information and Communication Sciences and Geography from the University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland. In 2022, he obtained a Master's degree in Cognitive Science at the University of Neuchâtel. During his Master’s, he worked as an intern in Human Systems Engineering at the Arizona State University (ASU) and in Cognitive Anthropology at the Université Clermont-Auvergne (UCA), France. Since October 2022, he has been working for IMCA as a doctoral student and research assistant.

Manuel’s research is focused on attention shifting in organizational contexts. His interdisciplinary background allows for inputs from various disciplines to study attention in organizations while adopting an approach based on practice theory to investigate attention as emerging from situated and materially mediated practices.
