Abstract

Parallel nonlinear and nonconforming domain decomposition methods are implemented and applied - in a massive parallel setting - to the solution of heterogeneous nonlinear optimization problems. Moreover, in order to achieve convergence of the new method, convergence control strategies are considered, as well as, different methods for transferring information at the processor interfaces. Finally, also local reassembling strategies will be developed aiming on a more adaptive and thus efficient solution strategy. This project will be carried out in cooperation with partners from industry aiming at a future application in industry relevant settings.
