Abstract

The project develops an advanced technological software platform that monitors elderlies’ behaviour through appropriate sensors and adaptively renders health-related information and suggestions on various devices existing at home through intuitive user interfaces. The authoring environment exploit a model-based approach to provide innovative solutions anticipating elderly needs, and dynamically adapting to changes in contexts of use. We envisage applying these concepts in a set of care applications, namely remote assistance, medication monitoring and rehabilitation physiotherapy, in order to validate the results in a realistic settings and to show their generality. These services enable users to receive personalized assistance directly in their own homes, using web technologies, with the goal to improve quality of life and decrease healthcare delivery cost.  End users will be involved from the beginning of the project through focus groups and interviews in order to collect their requirements and early feedback.
