Abstract
These guidelines, elaborated within the ORBIS project, reflect on conflict prevention in deliberative democracy discussions. They are meant to suggest possible integrations of conflict detection, prevention and resolution tools based on discourse and argumentation into the platforms for deliberative democracy offered in ORBIS. The guidelines are based on previous research on argumentation in conflict resolution and dispute mediation (e.g. Greco, 2011; van Bijnen and Greco, 2018; Greco, Cigada & Jermini-Martinez Soria, 2024) but have been elaborated considering the specific needs of deliberative democracy platforms in ORBIS.
