Faculty of Biomedical Sciences
Description
The Faculty of Biomedical Sciences at USI was established in 2014, with the purpose to make a contribution towards the solution of an important problem in Switzerland: the dearth of physicians trained in Switzerland. Since 2020 the Faculty offers a Master degree in Medicine (3 years), in close collaboration with ETH Zurich, University of Basel and University of Bern on the academic side, and with the Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale and cantonal and private clinics in Ticino for the bedside teaching. The Faculty currently has two affiliated entities, the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB) and the Institute of Oncology Research (IOR); both are located in Bellinzona.
