Institute of Family Medicine (IMF)

The Institute of Family Medicine (IMF) is an institute supported by the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, aimed at enhancing the role of family physicians. The objectives and tasks of the IMF, in line with its academic mission, include undergraduate and continuing education (specialization, updates), research, and community service through the establishment, strengthening, and coordination of network activities and therapeutic pathways, with particular attention to vulnerable populations. The IMF collaborates with the Medical Association of Canton Ticino (OMCT), the Cantonal Hospital Authority (EOC), the Department of Health and Social Care (DSS), and Lugano Social Institutions (LIS).
