Biography

Giulia I. Guerra is a PhD candidate, teaching assistant and researcher at the Institute of Digital Technologies for Communication (ITDxC).

She holds a BA in International Relations, Politics and International Organizations (Università degli Studi di Trento, Italy) and a MA in Public and Corporate Communication (Università degli Studi di Milano, Italy). 

During her academic career she had professional experience as an editor, content creator, social media manager, and PR professional, working in diverse settings such as a publishing house, online and radio newsrooms.

Her research interests include visual and political communication, social media and qualitative research. Her doctoral project focuses on visual communication on social media, specifically examining how it shapes political communication within the Swiss socio-political context. Currently she is working on short video platforms, exploring how these highly visual and mobile-first spaces are reshaping the ways politicians construct their public image and engage with their intended audience.
