Biography
Ivo Silvestro is a journalist and lecturer at the Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society at the Università della Svizzera italiana.
Born in Locarno in 1978, he graduated in Theoretical Philosophy from the University of Milan in 2003. In 2016, at the same university, he earned a PhD in Philosophy of Law with a dissertation on the influence of metaphors in debates on the patentability of genetic material. In January 2023, he completed a First-Level Master’s Degree in Science and Health Communication at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University.
He works as a journalist for the daily newspaper laRegione, where he also served as editor, and collaborates with the weekly Ticino7, the website Ticino Scienza, and the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation. From 2022 to 2024, he worked with the Institutional Communication Service of USI.
