Advanced Care Planning

This workshop is dedicated to advancing knowledge, skills, and collaboration around Advance Care Planning (ACP) among healthcare professionals in palliative care, disability services, nursing homes, and family medicine in Ticino. The event aims to foster a shared understanding of ACP as a continuous, person-centered process that promotes autonomy, dignity, and quality of care.

Throughout the day, participants will engage in interactive sessions, practical discussions, and case-based reflections, drawing from their diverse professional perspectives. The workshop will provide space for peer exchange and interprofessional dialogue, with a focus on challenges and opportunities in implementing ACP across different care settings in the Swiss context of Ticino.

We are honored to welcome Prof. Rebecca Sudore (University of California, San Francisco) as our keynote speaker. A world-renowned expert and creator of the PREPARE for Your Care program, Prof. Sudore will offer key insights and contributions throughout the workshop and start/conclude the event with a keynote address on communication strategies and system-level integration of ACP.

This event is jointly organized by Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) and local healthcare institutions, including the Commission of Clinical Ethics of the EOC.
