Marco Alberti

Marco holds a Master’s degree in Information Systems from HEC Lausanne and has over a decade of entrepreneurial experience. From 2008 to 2009, he studied under Professor Yves Pigneur, co-author of the book "Business Model Generation". During this time, he actively participated as a tester in the development of the Business Model Canvas, helping to explore its applicability in practical contexts—an experience that profoundly shaped his entrepreneurial approach. He is a co-founder of Stagend SA, an innovative startup in the events industry. Between 2010 and 2020, he secured and managed three different Innosuisse projects, two with Stagend and one with a third company, and was selected for the Innosuisse Scale-up Phase 1. His experience as a startup founder, including several pivots during the creation of his company, enables him to effectively assist new entrepreneurial ventures in avoiding common mistakes, optimising governance, and understanding the importance of testing the market as early as possible. Marco was a coach for the Innosuisse Business Creation programme from 2015 to 2017. As ICT Coach at the USI Startup Centre, he provides strategic support to incubated ICT startups and engages in scouting activities to identify new technologies developed within the University’s laboratories that have market potential.
