Ricerca

My research spans software systems, program analysis, runtime and compiler optimization, and empirical methodology for performance evaluation. A substantial part of my work focuses on managed runtimes and their software ecosystems, especially the Java Virtual Machine, as a practically relevant setting for broader research questions in modern software platforms.

I develop methods, tools, and evaluation infrastructures to make software behavior more observable, diagnose inefficiencies and unexpected degradations, and support rigorous improvement of performance, scalability, and predictability. Current directions also include performance variability and trustworthy AI-assisted program transformation, instrumentation, and analysis.
