Biografia
Professor Deborah Sulem is an Assistant Professor of Data Science within the Faculty of Informatics at Università della Svizzera italiana.
Prof. Sulem obtained her PhD from the University of Oxford in 2023. From 2023 to 2024, she was a postdoctoral researcher at Barcelona School of Economics (Pompeu Fabra University). She joined the Computing Institute at USI in 2024 as an Assistant Professor, where she leads the Statistical Science lab.
Prof Sulem's research focuses on point processes, graphical modeling, Bayesian inference and statistical fairness. Her interest lies in methodological and theoretical developments for large-scale applications.
