Student Administration
Description
The primary mission of the Student Administration, part of the Education, Student life and Internationalisation Service is to promote a student-centred environment where students are supported throughout their academic career: from enrolment to the completion of their studies.
In particular, the Student Administration:
- Manages students and activities related to their study plans (timetable, exam sessions, matriculations, etc.)
- Provides guidance on the structure of the study programme and supports students at administrative level;
- Manages the enrolment and admission process in collaboration with Programme Directors;
- Actively collaborates with other area services;
- Manages double and joint degrees and their relative international agreements with partner universities.
For the above-mentioned activities, the service is organised into five teams, each responsible for a USI Faculty with which it is in close and constant dialogue.
Within the Student Administration a dedicated team also:
- Ensures scholarship management and promotes grants offered by third parties;
- Provides general information on Swiss healthcare insurance, manages activities related to the collective agreement that USI has concluded with Swisscare Switzerland and actively collaborates with the IAS (Social Insurance Institute).
Finally, a dedicated team coordinates the activities of the Student Corporation, the organised structure of the University student body. Thanks to a strong interconnection with the University's institutional structure, which allows for a continuous and constructive dialogue, the Corporation proactively promotes projects with the aim of improving student experience on campus.
