International Relations and Study Abroad Service
Description
USI’s International Relations and Study Abroad Service is responsible for coordinating USI participation in the following student exchange programmes:
- Swiss mobility programme: enables USI students to spend one or two semesters studying at another Swiss university and students from another Swiss university to spend a semester at a USI faculty.
- SEMP programme (Swiss-European Mobility programme, formerly Erasmus): enables USI students to spend one or two semesters studying at another European university, enjoying full recognition of the period spent abroad, and students from partner universities to study at USI for one or two semesters.
- international exchange programme: enables USI students to spend a semester studying at a university outside Europe with which Università della Svizzera italiana has a bilateral agreement and students from partner universities to study at USI.
- other programmes: mobility outside agreements, summer/winter schools.
and for teaching or administrative staff:
- outgoing and incoming SEMP programme (Swiss-European Mobility programme, formerly Erasmus).
In addition to exchange programmes, the Service also operates on a number of other fronts: supervision of agreements governing double or joint degree programmes, participation in national interest and working groups and conferences, management of the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships Programme, the programme in support of refugee students and the programme Scholars at Risk, hosting foreign delegations.
