Biography
Valerio Olgiati has taught at ETH Zurich, at AA London, at Cornell New York and at Harvard GSD Cambridge. He is an honorary member of the SIA (Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects).
Olgiati understands his role as an architect who thinks and creates space. His architecture is cultural and not political. In his own work and in his teaching he operates in an independent way. He is interested in an architecture that emerges from an idea. He considers experience of space as the basis to form an architectural oeuvre today.
Since 2008 he and his wife Tamara run an office in Flims. They currently work on commercial and cultural projects as well as private houses in Europe, the US and the Middle East.
