Biography
Lighting designer, he is co-founder of the lighting design practice D’Alesio&Santoro, established in 2010, and of MEG Science, an applied photobiology consultancy founded in 2018.
Both entities have developed a global scale portfolio distinguished by projects and awards, and both moved by the will of advancing the culture of the lighting design discipline.
Since 2017, he has taught the Lighting Design course in the Interior and Spatial Design MSc at Politecnico di Milano, Scuola del Design, covering lighting theory, lighting culture, and project-based applications.
Since 2015, he has led an annual workshop in the Lighting Design and Technology postgraduate master’s programme at POLI.design.
He is a Professional Member of IALD (International Association of Lighting Designers) since 2020, and a CLD (Certified Lighting Designer) since 2025.
Since 2022, for ADI (Associazione per il Disegno Industriale), he has been part of the Osservatorio Permanente del Design and has served on the thematic committee “Design for Lighting”, co-curating the selection of candidates for the ADI Design Index and the ADI Compasso d’Oro.
