Biography

Matilde Melotto is a PhD Assistant at the Institute of Public Health of the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI). Since March 2024, she has been involved in the GIOCO project, which investigates the role of different forms of play, offline, hybrid, and online, in the development of children and adolescents. Her research focuses on the influence of social interactions through play on the development of emotional and relational competencies, with particular attention to the role of digital technologies.

She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychological Sciences and Techniques from the University of Turin before completing a joint Master's degree in Cognitive Psychology in Health Communication at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan and the Università della Svizzera italiana, graduating with a double degree.

Matilde is a licensed psychologist and, alongside her PhD, is pursuing specialist training in individual and group analytic psychotherapy at Nuova Clinica Nuovi Setting in Milan.
