Augmented and Virtual Reality


This course is designed as a comprehensive introduction to the rapidly evolving technologies of Augmented Reality (AR), intended as digital solutions that enhance real life objects/environments with overlaid information, and Virtual Reality (VR, and WebVR), intended as an immersive digital environment. The course combines a look at the underlying theory and technical aspects with an analysis and discussion of the key components of AR/VR and immersive technologies. Based on a selection of case studies from the Fashion and Tourism industries, the course will analyze the various applications of AR and VR in terms of content development, media effects, and business implications. This course enables students to understand how to integrate AR and VR experiences into digital communication strategies, and how to advance businesses to the forefront of this innovative field.
