Intercultural Dialogue

The course aims to provide theoretical knowledge required for interpreting and managing intercultural differences that affect ethics and policymaking in the context of democratic societies. A second learning objective is to provide students with a basic understanding of the application of intercultural dialogue to contemporary global challenges (with a special focus on human rights and migration)

Obiettivi

  • Understand and discuss literature about the ethical dimensions of pluralism and dialogue as a model of authentic integration
  • Recognise, describe and critically analyse the major ethical dilemmas and controversies in contemporary policies of migration
  • Apply knowledge and understanding, develop and demonstrate specific competencies for formulating arguments for solving problems related to human rights issues.

Modalità d’esame

At the end of each course, the student must take a written exam. It focuses on the topics covered during the course as well as on the texts listed in the recommended bibliography.
The exam consists of 5 open questions. Each answer must be 3.000 characters long, including spaces.
The exam paper must be uploaded onto the dedicated area on the eLearning platform, during the one-week-long exam session.
