Found in Cave 1Q of Qumran, the Great Isaiah Scroll is a manuscript which dates back to the II century BCE, containing all 66 chapters of the biblical book of Isaiah, spread out along fifty four columns. It is 7.34 meters long and 26 centimetres wide. The course will include a reading of large portions of the text, a focus on scribal marks, and on non-textual information provided by the artefact.
Obiettivi
The course aims at introducing to the study of the Great Scroll of Isaiah with regard to both the text and the scroll as an artefact.
