Biografia

Professor Luca Ceriani graduated in Medicine at the University of Pavia in 1988 and achieved post-graduation in Nuclear Medicine at the University of Milan in 1992. In 1994, he received the "Felice Perussia" Award for Nuclear Medicine conferred by the Italian Association of Nuclear Medicine (AIMN).

From 1991 to 2003, he worked in the Nuclear Medicine Department of the University Hospital of Varese (Italy) as Director of Diagnostic Imaging Unit and Nuclear Cardiology Laboratory. He took Master in Healty Resources Management organized by the I.Re.F. of Regione Lombardia and MIP University (Politecnico) of Milan in 2002.

In June 2003 he moved to Canton Ticino where he has continued his professional activity at the Clinic of Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT Centre of the Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale where since 2016 he has hold the role of Deputy head and Director of Molecular Imaging Unit.

In the 2018 has started a scientific collaboration with the Institute of Oncology Research (IOR), Bellinzona.

Since 2019 has led the Laboratory for Radiomics and predictive medicine of the Imaging Institute of Southern Switzerland (IIMSI).

From 2003 to 2017 he was invited Professor of Nuclear Medicine at the post-graduated Schools in Diagnostic Radiology and in Cardiology of the University of Insubria, Varese (Italy). In 2018 he obtained his habilitation and received the “venia legendi” for Nuclear Medicine at the Medical School of the University of Zurich (UZH).

Since 2020 he is professor in Nuclear Medicine at the faculty of Biomedical Sciences of USI, Lugano. His major research and professional interests are focused mainly on imaging in oncology, clinical PET application, technical instrumentation and health management.

He published the results of his research activity in more than 150 publications in peer reviewed international journals.
