Promotion de la relève scientifique

The action plan aims to create better framework conditions for the academic work of postdocs at USI. The various actions cover the entire spectrum of objectives and involve numerous aspects of the professional life of postdocs, including:

• development of (transversal) skills and personal training of early career researchers (see specific measures (8) and (9) in Annex 1);
• achieving greater scientific independence and better preparation in the management of research funds (measures (2), (3) and (8));
• fostering a better environment for combining personal and professional life (measure (6));
• promoting community-building initiaves (measure (5)), and;
• offering an improved contractual plan with a clearer assessment of the situation and more precise internal data on the ‘Mittelbau’ (measures (4) and (7)). 

The measures proposed in this action plan have their roots in a series of strategic initiatives recently proposed at USI to support the academic development of postdocs and early career researchers. The financial support from the project would considerably help the institution in the starting phase before making those measures sustainable in the long term.
