After graduating she trained as a writer and editor in reference publishing in London, and went on to specialize in the management of large-scale international projects for a well-known British publisher. She moved to Italy in 2003 and later retrained as a teacher of English as a Second Language. Before joining USI in 2018, her clients included a number of high-profile companies, including Fideuram Private Banking, GE Consumer Industrial, Spirax-Sarco Engineering, Takeda Pharmaceutical, RSI-Radiotelevisione Svizzera italiana and the Swiss Army.

Beyond her teaching work, Bostock is currently leading an 18-month project to create a digital platform for individual self-study in English grammar, aimed at students in the Faculty of Economics.
Outside USI, Bostock collaborates with Bellinzona’s Scuola Cantonale di Commercio as an expert examiner in English, maintains a small list of academic clients with whom she works as an academic editor, and occasionally translates childrens’ classics from Italian to English for an Italian publisher.
