Biography
Giulia I. Guerra is a Ph.D. Candidate, Lecturer, and Researcher at the Institute of Digital Technologies for Communication (ITDxC). She is currently the Teaching Assistant of the MA course “Visual Fashion Communication”.
She holds a BA in International Relations, achieved at the Università degli Studi di Trento with a grade of 110 cum laude/110 and a MA in Corporate and Public Communication, achieved at Università degli Studi di Milano, with a grade of 108/110.
For her BA dissertation, “Ritratto d’Italia al voto”, she examined the evolution of the Italian party system from the late 1940s to the 2018 national elections, including an analysis of shifts in voter behavior. Her MA dissertation, “Understanding political communication on social media: analysis of the 2022 Italian electoral campaign on Instagram and TikTok”, explored the role of these social media platforms in mediating the communication between voters and politicians during the 2022 summer campaign.
In 2021, she participated in the Erasmus+ program, working as compliance analyst on global political and economic issue at Dimitra International Law Firm, Warsaw.
During her academic studies, she has collaborated with several Italian newsrooms and a publishing house as an editor, analyst and social media manager (2020-2023).
Her research interests include political, digital and visual communication, social media platforms and video studies.
