Biography
Nadzeya Sabatini holds a PhD in Communication Sciences. She is a senior researcher and lecturer at the Institute of Digital Technologies for Communication within the Faculty of Communication, Culture, and Society at USI-Universita’ della Svizzera italiana, Switzerland.
She is the co-founder and the Academic Coordinator of the MSc in Digital Fashion Communication, a double-degree program between USI and Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, France.
Nadzeya is the team leader in Digital Fashion Communication Research at the Institute of Digital Technologies for Communication (USI).
She is the co-chair of the FACTUM Conference, the global bi-annual Fashion Communication conference, since its foundation in 2019. The FACTUM Conference is now in its fourth edition, following its previous events in Ascona, Switzerland (2019), Pamplona, Spain (2021), Pisa, Italy (2023), and Stockholm, Sweden (2025).
Nadzeya Sabatini won two excellence scholarships from the Swiss National Science Foundation.
Since October 2022, Nadzeya has been employed as tenured Assistant Professor in Digital Transformation at Gdańsk University of Technology (Gdansk, Poland), in the Department of Informatics in Management (Faculty of Management and Economics). She teaches BA and MA courses on "Global Digital Transformation", "Disruptive Technologies", and "Digital Business".
Nadzeya Sabatini has been a visiting scholar and invited lecturer at:
- Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Hong Kong),
- University of Strathclyde (UK),
- Auckland University of Technology (New Zealand),
- University of Pisa (Italy),
- Operating Unit on Policy-Driven Electronic Governance of the United Nations University (Portugal).
She is currently an invited senior lecturer at the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne (France).
Throughout the years, Nadzeya has nurtured strong industry partnerships, which she extensively leverages in her teaching and research activities. She has been involved as a mentor, advisor, and investor in early-stage tech companies on several occasions.
Nadzeya is fluent in five languages: Belarusian, Russian, English, Italian & French, and is studying German.
Research
Nadzeya is a qualitative researcher with an interpretive approach.
Her research is mainly looking into how digital transformation is reshaping communication and marketing practices in communicatevely rich contexts such as hospitality and tourism, fashion and luxury, and the public sector. Her work also examines how these evolving practices are perceived and adopted by various publics.
Nadzeya Sabatini has published over 50 journal and conference articles, multiple book chapters, co-edited several conference proceedings, and has authored a book:
