Description

The course is structured in two main teaching components, the first includes ex-cathedra presentations during which the themes of advanced architectural construction will be contextualised, also through seminar meetings with professionals active in international research in the building sector and the detailed analysis of some case studies; the second includes an exercise in the form of applied research. The relationship between architecture and engineering will also be investigated. It is a course intended to experiment a research method for innovative architectural design, design for disassembly - circular construction, through the development of a concept design for a prototype.

Objectives

The aim is to inform students about the main logic and processes behind the most important lines of research in the field of advanced and/or innovative building materials and systems, in order to enable them to achieve a greater awareness of the architectural consequences of certain construction and material choices.
