Description
We will cover the venture building process end-to-end, touching on aspects ranging from team building, product ideation and development, financing and finally generating liquidity. All such concepts will be put into practice with the group project. From a theory perspective we will cover main players and latest trends in fintech, regulations, and the industry outlook.
There is no required textbook for the class. The lecturer will use a mix of slides, cases, and other in-class activities. Students will be encouraged to read books from a curated list.
Objectives
At the end of the course students will have the knowledge and tools to be able to launch a real fintech venture.

This course takes a hands-on approach. Traditional (PowerPointbased) theory delivery will be kept to a minimum in class, while emphasis will be put on cases, guest lecturers, and other in-class activities.
Examination information
60% group project: students will form groups of 2 to 3 people and will start working on a fintech venture from day 1. The venture will be pitched to real VCs and the class.
30% oral exam: test on the concepts taught throughout the semester as well as pitch of the group project as an individual.
10%: in-class activities and homework. Class attendance is expected.
