Description

Welcome to corporate finance – we are excited that you join us! This course covers managers' and investors' most fundamental finance decision: how to value a project or an asset. Managers must determine the value of building a factory, entering a new market, or purchasing an entire firm when deciding in which projects to invest. Similarly, individuals must assess the value of financial securities to decide how to invest their wealth. Corporate finance teaches methods for valuing projects or assets.

This course will enable you to not only understand the methods but also to implement these methods as you will in practice after you leave USI. We make heavy use of Excel and aim to make most (if not all) problems solvable either using analysis or Excel (or other language). A Maths and Statistics refresher of basic concepts that you will use through the course will be provided in the first week.
