Description

We begin by reviewing the graphical representation of two-variable real functions and analyse the notion of differentiability of two-variable real functions. The elements of analytic geometry and the criteria for maxima and minima developed will lead us to introduce the basic notions of linear algebra. 

Objectives

Optimisation theory is used to solve problems such as how to maximise a company's output, knowing that its budget is limited. Building upon the notions developed in the course “Mathematics: analysis” we will deepen the study of two-variable real functions and the criteria for maxima and minima which serve in the analysis of economic optimisation problems.
