Biography

I am researching Health economics, Development economics, and their intersection. Using causal econometrics and machine learning, I like to answer interesting social science and health questions. I teach "Macroeconomics" and Quantitative methods for policy evaluation" as an assistant to Professor Giovanni Pica, the vice dean of the faculty of Economics. Both courses are for the program of study Master of Economics at Lugano.
Before joining USI in Lugano, I researched for the ministry of the welfare of Iran and collaborated with academic frontiers of economics and the University of Zurich. I also taught mathematics as one of my part-time interests for several years. My sense of adventure has always led me to look for novel ways to learn and use what I know. This has given me more confidence, improved my skills, and made me want to learn more about data science, analytics, and programming.
