Biography

Fabio James is associate professor at the Burgundy School of Business (BSB) in the department of Digital Management of the Lyon campus. He is responsible for the BSB research axis Organizational Transformations, Behaviors and Decisions. At BSB Fabio teaches at Master and Bachelor level courses of geopolitics, business ethics and corporate social responsibility (CSR), discipline he also teaches as visiting professor in the Master of Business Management of the Mediterranean School of Business in Tunis. Fabio holds a PhD from the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI), where he worked at the Institute of Marketing and Communication Management (IMCA) and where since 2021 he has been teaching, with Prof. Jeanne Mengis, the Bachelor course Communication in Management.

He holds an MA from Pavia University in Foreign Languages and Literature, and an International Postgraduate Diploma in Media Science and Technology from the European School for Advanced Studies (ESAS) of the Institute for Advanced Study of Pavia (IUSS).

His most recent research has investigated organizational spaces and digital innovation, from their planning to users' lived experience at different scales. (e.g. coworking spaces, hybrid work places and practices, smart cities, urban planning etc.), critically analyzed through various processual, historical and sociomaterial approaches.

He worked in London and Milan for the following broadcasting, newspaper and publishing companies: Il Sole 24 Ore, Gruppo editoriale Mauri Spagnol (GeMS), ESPN Classic Sport Ltd, BroadcastText London Ltd, Baldini Castoldi Dalai editore. He taught a master course in strategy at the public university Lumière Lyon 2 from 2017 and 2020 and from 2017 to 2023 he worked at the Grande Ecole of INSEEC (Lyon) where he was principal researcher for the Chair on Digital Innovation, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
