Biography

Giada Clory Mazzi is a PhD student and teaching assistant at the Institute of Marketing and Communication Management (IMCA) of the Faculty of Communication, Culture and Society. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management from the University of Lucerne and a Master’s degree in International Tourism with a minor in eTourism from the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) in Lugano.

Under the supervision of Professor Michael Gibbert, her research focuses on creating sustainable networks along the value chains connecting tourism, hospitality, and agriculture. The project, conducted in the Canton of Grisons (Switzerland) in collaboration with the EHL Hotel School in Passugg, adopts a transdisciplinary approach that integrates theoretical and practical perspectives to address sustainability challenges in rural and tourism contexts. Within this research, she examines the concepts of authenticity and their role in the design and perception of sustainable tourism and gastronomic experiences, while simultaneously exploring methodological innovations in tourism and education to foster transdisciplinary approaches to sustainability.

Giada is also an active member of the Fontana Living Lab an applied research laboratory that explores the intersection of hospitality, agriculture, and sustainability, contributing to the development of resilient and innovative value chains.
