Biography

Miriam Stierle is an architect and PhD researcher at the USI – Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio, Switzerland. Her SNF-funded dissertation explores the notion of fair housing distribution in the context of urban densification in Zurich. Before joining the Accademia in 2022, she taught at ETH Zurich, FHNW Basel, and HSLU Lucerne. In 2019, she founded the architecture practice Studiolimani, after gaining professional experience in Basel and London. Alongside her research, she is active in feminist networks including the indiana collective and Frau SIA Basel. In 2024, she co-authored with Dr. Giulia Scotto the third volume of swissmonographies, dedicated to the pioneering Swiss architect Annemarie Hubacher and the settlement Rietholz she was involved in building. She holds a Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Planning from the University of Stuttgart.
