Maddalena Fiordelli


Dr. Maddalena Fiordelli, PhD, is a Senior Researcher and Lecturer at the Institute of Public Health, Università della Svizzera italiana. Her research focuses on health communication, community-based participatory research, multi-stakeholder communication, social isolation, informal caregivers, and digital health.

She collaborated as senior researcher at the Swiss Paraplegic Research for four years (2018-2021) and later at the University of Lucerne (2021-2023). Dr. Fiordelli was a visiting PhD student supported by the SNF scholarship at the University of Amsterdam in 2007/2008 and has been the treasurer of the International Association for Communication in Healthcare since 2019.

She is actively involved in teaching at the bachelor and master levels and supervises several theses, contributing to the education of future public health professionals. Dr. Fiordelli's work encompasses advancing understanding of health communication dynamics, fostering stakeholder collaboration, addressing social isolation, supporting informal caregivers, and exploring the potential of digital tools in healthcare.
