Maddalena Fiordelli is a postdoctoral researcher working at the Institute of Communication and Health (ICH) on an EU-funded project (EMPOWER-FP7), and as seminar lecturer for the undergraduate courses “Research methods for communication sciences” and “Theories and semiotic models of communication”. Since the academic year 2013-2014 she is also lecturer of the course “Industry & Institutions Perspectives: Stakeholders in the Swiss Health System” for the Master in Communication, Management and Health, and of the seminar course “Mobile and Health” at the Bachelor level . She graduated in Communication Science and she obtained her Ph.D. in Communication Science in March 2009.
She has worked on a variety of communication and health-related topics, and her main research interest has always been the role of technology in communication. She is currently developing her research line around mHealth and the use of social media for an elderly population.
