ERIC - European Resources for Intercultural Communication
People
Abstract
Globalisation and European integration have led to a vast increase in exchange programmes and co-operations in all areas of public and private life, including the economy, politics, culture and academic research. The aim of achieving intercultural communication has been accidental in these activities at best. However, only by means of intercultural knowledge and sensibility can the barriers in the way of cooperation and partnership be overcome. What is needed is a network to encourage and link intercultural activities and research across academic disciplines to achieve intercultural communication on a broad scale. This is the aim of ERIC (European Resources for Intercultural Communication). Cross-cultural awareness and knowledge must be regarded as the pre-condition and aim for understanding any culture, even one´s own. The NewMinE Lab is in the subnet of Elearn.
