Abstract
This article analyses the linguistic and metric aspects of Hermeticism’s vocabulary of colours. It identifies and analyses the most important semantic and expressive categories of the koine in this lexical field, providing a reasoned account of the various occurrences in the writings of the main authors ascribable to Hermeticism; both the lyrical tradition and the new tradition of the nineteenth century will be considered to clarify and deepen the analysis. The article suggests that the homogeneous and controlled nature of the considered linguistic-stylistic features, seeminglymarginal, sheds light on the communitary and suprapersonal attitude of Hermetics.
