Research
Leonardo Manna's research lies at the intersection of philosophy of information, relational ontology, and philosophy of religion, and performs a single formal operation across different domains: the asymmetric co-belonging of opposites, unity and multiplicity, autonomy and dependence, the human and the artificial, which resists reduction to monism, dualism, or dialectical synthesis. The research program thus operates across multiple levels of analysis, from theological foundations to applied ethics, maintaining the same conceptual architecture throughout.
The theoretical axis, already expressed in Deus sive Informatio (TheoLogica, forthcoming) and in the methodological core already present in Il pensiero come relazione o intero semantico? (Phenomenology and Mind, 2021), grounds an ontology of the person through infromational tools (Informational Structural Realism) and phenomenology (endo-ontology, chiasm), applying the same apparatus to Trinitarian relationality, the quantum measurement problem, the affective constitution of the pre-reflective self, and the persistence of episodic memory. Methodologically, the program inherits from Italo Mancini's religious hermeneutics the structure of "doppi pensieri", the capacity to inhabit the tension between opposites without resolving it, as a deep grammar.
The ethical-pedagogical axis, already expressed in «Preferirei di no» (Nuova Secondaria, 2026) and in Etica dell'educazione e dell'informazione, develops an infra-ethics of education and inclusion, exploring the impact of artificial intelligence on learning, design, and post-truth, and rethinking disability as constitutive interdependence.
