Abstract
The Global Center for Brand Research at the University of Birmingham Management School – over the last five years - successfully built up the Thought Leaders International Conference in Brand Management to become the leading Brand Conference for top academics in the field. With its founder, Prof. Leslie de Chernatony being appointed Professor of Brand Marketing at the Università della Svizzera italiana, this annual conference is permanently moving to Lugano. The Journal of Business Research (Elsevier), the leading American peer-reviewed scientific journal in the field of business research to actual business situations, will be supporting the conference for the 3rd time with a special issue dedicated to the best papers - a decision that is unprecedented and is an external validation of the very high quality of the conference. The International Steering Committee, chaired by Professor Leslie de Chernatony (Università della Svizzera italiana), comprises academic experts and specialists from the field of Brand Management and represents five nationalities.Traditionally, all leading researches in the field of Brand Management will attend the Thought Leaders International Conference in Brand Management. All in all, USI expects 200 participants from across Europe (40%), the US (20%), Asia (20%) and Oceania (20%). The keynote speakers will be Professor Jean Nöel Kapferer (HEC Paris), Professor Leslie de Chernatony (USI) - the two leading textbook authors in the field of brand management - as well as Professor Luiz Moutinho (University of Glasgow Business School) and some highly recognized practitioners in the field, such as Yves Daccord (Director of Communication of the International Committee of the Red Cross), Bruno Guimaraes Motta (Chairman, Shell Brandsinternational) ,Ambassador Johannes Matyassy (CEO Presence Switzerland, Federal Department of Foreign Affairs) and Erich Joachimsthaler (CEO, Vivaldi Partners, NYC).
