International Relations and Study Abroad Service
Description
USI’s International Relations and Study Abroad Service promotes and coordinates initiatives that strengthen the university’s international profile, offering opportunities for exchange, growth, and inclusion for the entire academic community.
Its activities and projects are developed around three main pillars:
- Exchange: Through various exchange programs, the Service facilitates international experiences for students, researchers, faculty, and administrative staff, fostering academic and cultural dialogue, while also paying close attention to sustainability. USI currently has 117 active agreements with partner universities in Switzerland, across Europe, and in several non-European countries.
- Internationalization: Internationalization is an integral part of USI’s vision and is reflected in numerous initiatives and collaborations, including support for the creation and management of double degree or joint degree programs, strategic partnerships with foreign institutions, participation in national and international interest groups and academic networks, Internationalization at home activities, promotion of intercultural competencies, presence at major sector conferences to enhance visibility and exchanges, managing the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships, and hosting of academic and institutional delegations.
- Integration: Through initiatives such as Scholars at Risk and InclUSIone, the Service promotes a university committed to the values of hospitality, inclusion, and social responsibility.
