Gaetano Paone

PD Dr. Gaetano Paone graduated in medicine at the University Federico II of Naples (2001) and he achieved post-graduation in nuclear medicine (2005) at the same University.

After the post-graduation in nuclear medicine, he worked as consultant at the Department of nuclear medicine and Biophysics of the University Hospital of Creteil University-Paris XII (until 2009) and University Hospital l'Archet, Nice (untie 2010). In 2010 he passed the French national exam obtaining the title of Praticien Hospitalier des Hôpitaux Publique française. From 2013 he is nuclear physician at EOC Clinic of Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT Center with the current role of senior consultant. Since 2014, he has been personally in charge of the Radiometabolic Therapy area of the EOC and since 2019 he is the head of Therapy and Theragnostics unit. He introduced new Radiometabolic Therapy procedures in Ticino aimed at the treatment of metastatic prostate cancer, metastatic well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumor pathology, and metastatic liver disease from HCC. Invited speaker in major national and international meetings in the field of oncologic imaging and Teragnostics, Currently actively involved in the Radiometabolic Therapy Group of the Swiss Society of Nuclear Medicine (SGNM-AG Therapie) and Auditor for the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH).

He achieved the title of Private Docent (PD) in 2022 at the Faculty of Biomedical sciences of Università della Svizzera italiana (USI). The research activity of PD Gaetano Paone is highly regarded. His main research interests focus on positron emission tomography (PET), hybrid imaging and the teragnostic field. He is author of multiple full-text articles published on international journals and book chapters.
