Biography
Fabio Amicarelli is an architect and researcher with a strong interest in sustainable construction processes and digital fabrication. Since 2022, he has been pursuing a PhD at the Fabrication and Material Aware Architecture group (ARC-USI), where he develops innovative paper formwork systems for concrete casting applications. In 2024, he co-founded Foldcast Sagl, a startup focused on sustainable concrete building elements produced using paper-based moulds.
Prior to this, he gained professional experience in Lugano and Zurich, working as a specialist in computational design and digital fabrication. He received his Master of Science in Architecture from the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio (USI) in 2022.
