Biography
Roberto Leggero holds a degree in Philosophy (Università degli Studi di Milano) and a PhD in Medieval History (Università degli Studi di Padova). He has collaborated with the Chair of the History of the Medieval Church and of Heretical Movements at the University of Milan, with the "Schedario storico territoriale dei comuni piemontesi" at the University of Turin and with various Italian publishers, including Laterza and Bruno Mondadori. He is a member of the Swiss Alpine Research Collaboration (Swiss ARC), expert for Mountain Research Initiative (MRI), teaches at the Doctoral School of the "Accademia di architettura" (Research Methods II: Historical Studies and Epistemology in the Humanities), is a founding member of the "Società Italiana di Storia Ambientale" (Italian Society for Environmental History) and a former member of the Scientific Commission of the "Istituto Storico della Resistenza e della Società contemporanea Pietro Fornara in Novara". In addition, he is a member of the Advisory Committee of the SNF-SNF ComMount Project and one of the Academy's two representatives on the Scientific Commission of the House of Sustainability in Airolo. Since 2012 he has been working at the Laboratory of Alpine History (LabiSAlp), where he is a lecturer and researcher. He has published in many Italian and international scientific journals and is the author and editor of several books.
