Following a master university degree in Law and a in Medicine, in 2001 and 2005 respectively, PD Eva Koetsier obtained the specialization degree in Anesthesiology in 2011 at the VU University Medical Center of Amsterdam. During this period, she worked as a Legal Consultant in a prominent Law Firm in Amsterdam, as a Colomnist regarding legal cases of anaesthesiologists and as a Member of the Legal Committee of the National Anesthesia Association in the Netherlands. In 2012, she completed a one-year clinical fellowship in Pain Management at the OLVG of Amsterdam. Since 2013, she moved to Switzerland (Tessin). She is Senior Consultant (Leitender Artz) at the Pain Management Center of the Neurocenter of Southern Switzerland and the Anesthesiology Service of the Ospedale Regionale di Lugano, and Head of Research at the Pain Management Center of the Neurocenter of Southern Switzerland. Besides an intense clinical commitment, she nurtures a great passion for clinical research. In September 2020, she completed her PhD traject at the Maastricht University and she obtained the role of Privat Dozent at the Universita’ of Svizzera Italiana in June 2021. Her research interest is mainly focused on minimal invasive (spinal) interventions and neuromodulation. She is married to Jelle Jansen and they have two sons: Zico (2005) and Mika (2010).
