Biography
He teaches in the Master in Cognitive Psychology of our University. Since year 2000 he is Full Professor of Physiology at the University San Raffaele in Milan. After the MD at the State University of Milan, he got a Postgraduate degree in Psychiatry and carried out post-doctoral research, first in Milano and then at the Department of Molecular and Cellular Physiology, Stanford University, US (1989-1993). Since 1993 he directs the Neurobiology of Learning Unit, Division of Neuroscience, Scientific Institute San Raffaele. In 1999 and 2000 he was summer investigator at the Marine Biological laboratory (MBL), Woods Hole, US. He has received numerous awards including the DeVisart (1988), Chemofux (1991), H.W. Rand (1999), F. Lillie (2000). In 2000 he was elected Embo member.
