Biography

Greta Rizzi is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Public Health, Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, Università della Svizzera italiana (USI). Her doctoral project, CoFFIE – Bridging the conceptual gap on public dementia awareness, aims to close the awareness' conceptualization -  implementation gap in dementia awareness campaigns. Her research lies at the intersection of psychology, health communication, and public health, and is driven by a strong commitment to community-based, participatory approaches.

Greta holds a Bachelor's degree in Scienze e Tecniche Psicologiche from the University of Milano-Bicocca (Italy) and a Master's degree in Cognitive Psychology in Health Communication jointly offered by Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele (Italy) and Università della Svizzera italiana (Switzerland). After completing her studies, she undertook a professional internship at the Institute of Clinical Neurosciences of Southern Switzerland (EOC), applying her expertise in the field of clinical neuropsychology of aging and dementia. In 2023, she earned her professional qualification as a licensed psychologist after passing the Esame di Stato.

She has been collaborating with the Institute of Public Health (IPH) since 2020, contributing to the research projects Corona Immunitas Ticino and SwissDEM, and gaining experience in participatory research approaches and data collection in community and residential settings. Her first research, published in a peer-reviewed journal and presented at international conferences, explored the cognitive consequences of COVID-19 in adults and older adults from Ticino.
