Biography

Anna Messina is a psychologist, psychotherapist, and Post-doc researcher at the Institute of Public Health of the Università della Svizzera italiana. She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the Università Cattolica in Milan (Italy) and has completed her certification as a cognitive-behavioral therapist at the Centro di Terapia Cognitiva in Como (Italy) and at the Di Gangi & Vicini Psychology and Psychotherapy Studio in Lugano (Switzerland). She completed her doctoral project on the cultural adaptation of a WHO caregiver training intervention for people with dementia in the Canton of Ticino and is currently collaborating on the project Liberi dalle Paure, funded by the SNSF. Her main research interest is exploring and understanding the experiences of family caregivers in order to provide personalized and appropriate community-level support.
