Biography
Matilde Melotto is a PhD research assistant at the Institute of Public Health, Università della Svizzera italiana. Since March 2024, she has been involved in the GIOCO project, investigating the role of various play activities — offline, hybrid, and online — in the socio-emotional development of children and adolescents.
She began her academic journey at the University of Turin, earning a degree in Psychological Science and Techniques. She then completed her master’s studies at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan and the Università della Svizzera italiana, obtaining a double degree in Cognitive Psychology of Health Communication.
At the end of her studies, she undertook a professional internship at the Institute of Integrated Psychosomatics in Milan, applying psychological knowledge in clinical practice. In December 2023, she obtained her professional qualification as a psychologist by passing the State Examination.
Her main research interests focus on understanding the influence of early social interactions on the psycho-emotional development of children and adolescents, with particular attention to the role of digital media in transforming interpersonal relationships.
